Localization of Granville
A glance at the map is enough to see that Granville is at the center of a superb region.
Located south of the Cotentin, this austere and grandiose Normandy, Granville is a perfect starting point to discover a real bocage, endless beaches and stunning preserved landscapes.
In the east of Cotentin, it will be interesting to go back to a past not so far by visiting the Normandy landing beaches, especially Omaha beach, the American cemetery at Colleville, Arromanches…
Then, it will be very exotic to visit the Channel Islands: Chausey, Jersey, Guernsey, Serq, Alderney.
And then, of course, the Mont-Saint-Michel, a stunning monument.
Even converted into a star of the global tourism, it is nevertheless a great symbol of Christian spirituality.
You must not hesitate to cross the Couesnon nearby to enter Brittany.
The coastal route from Mont-Saint-Michel to Saint-Malo, after a stop at Cancale, is very beautiful.
What to do in Saint-Malo ? a drink in front of “La Tour Solidor” at Saint-Servan , strolling along the Rance and then go to Dinan and eat a cake under the walls of the medieval city.
In the late afternoon, you will never be more than one hour from the Villa Leontine.
My favorite walks
By foot from La Villa Léontine
– Le Plat-Gousset: historically, the traditional promenade in Granville.
At the end of the Plat-Gousset, use the stairs up to the villa “Les Rhumbs” and visit the museum and Christian Dior’s House. Splendid view.
– La Haute-Ville (The old city) and “Le tour du Roc”
Walking through the streets of this authentic corsair city.
Visit Richard Anacreon and the Museum of Old Granville Museum.
Make absolutely “Tour du Roc” or walking around the peninsula along the ramparts and then taking the path of the customs.
